Trump Threatens EU With "Substantial" Tariffs Over Google Fine

On July 24, 2026, Donald Trump threatened the EU with "substantial" additional tariffs and announced an immediate U.S. investigation into its treatment of American companies. He called the EU's €890m Google fine "illegal" and accused Brussels of targeting Apple, Meta, Amazon, and Google. A 10% EU tariff was already imposed July 23.
