Former Southern Water CEO among four charged in wastewater data fraud case

The Environment Agency is bringing criminal conspiracy-to-defraud proceedings against four former Southern Water employees, including ex-CEO Matthew Wright, over alleged manipulation of wastewater compliance data from 2012 to 2017. The High Court rejected Wright's challenge to the Agency's prosecution power. The case proceeds at Medway magistrates court. Conspiracy to defraud carries a maximum 10-year sentence.
