Russia Fires 40 Missiles at Kyiv in One of Its Largest-Ever Ballistic Strikes

On July 19, 2026, Russia launched roughly 40 Iskander-M and hypersonic Zircon missiles at Kyiv in a two-wave, five-hour raid beginning at 1:30am local time. At least one person was killed and seven wounded, per Kyiv's city military administration and Mayor Klitschko. Fires hit residential and office buildings across four districts. The blast wave collapsed part of Lukyanivska metro station, a key civilian shelter since the full-scale invasion began.
