Killer's False Racism Claim Sparked Southampton Riots After Life Sentence

Vickrum Digwa, 23, was jailed for life with a minimum of 20 years for stabbing 18-year-old student Henry Nowak five times in December 2025. At the scene, Digwa falsely claimed Nowak had racially abused him and knocked off his turban. Police handcuffed the dying victim based on that claim. The fabricated narrative, once exposed, ignited riots in Southampton; at least 25 people now face violent disorder charges.
