Reform UK wins first police and crime commissioner seat at the ballot box

Former detective Colin Sutton, standing for Reform UK, won the Norfolk police and crime commissioner by-election on 17 July 2026 with 32,647 votes and a majority of 14,299. The BBC reported the Conservative candidate, Matthew Taylor, finished second. Turnout was 17%. Sutton is the first Reform UK candidate to win a PCC election outright.
