UK to Close Legal Loophole Blocking Deportation of Rochdale Gang Ringleader

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will outline legislative changes this afternoon to permit the deportation of Shabir Ahmed, ringleader of the Rochdale grooming gang. Existing law and missing Pakistani documentation have blocked his removal despite cross-party consensus he should leave the UK. Parliament has already signalled support for the amendment. Ahmed's victims say they were promised his deportation upon release from prison.
