Elvis Presley Rights Holders Sue Anthropic Over DRM Circumvention and Metadata Alteration

Elvis Presley music rights owners, including Authentic Brands Group and Raleigh Music Publishing, sued Anthropic on October 23, 2026, seeking $41 million. Beyond alleged AI training on 274 songs, the complaint accuses Anthropic of bypassing DRM protections and removing or altering copyright management information across 247 songs. Anthropic says it disagrees and intends to defend itself.
