December WTI Falls in Its Debut as Front-Month Oil Contract

December West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell in its debut as the front-month contract, the front month being the nearest-expiring contract that headline prices quote. Brent settled practically unchanged, the Wall Street Journal reported. The Journal called the drop a likely technical correction after an earlier 3.1% Brent gain to $116.72 a barrel, its highest since April.
