Jet2 Shares Surge 10% as Middle East Travel Demand Rebounds
UK airline Jet2 reported summer bookings up 7.1% year-on-year on 8 July, sending shares up 10%. Demand for Turkey, Cyprus, eastern Greek islands, and north Africa destinations rebounded sharply after months of caution tied to Middle East conflict. The carrier's chief executive attributed the recovery to consumers resuming bookings as geopolitical uncertainty eased. Management nonetheless cautioned that the ceasefire underpinning the recovery remains fragile.
