Global oil inventories, drawn down during the Iran-war disruption, haven't yet refilled. Reuters reported July 6 that while the world avoided gasoline and jet-fuel shortages despite record supply losses, depleted stocks now pose asymmetric risk: a second disruption before restocking completes could spike prices sharply, with far less cushion than current price levels suggest.
