Google Search Console Now Tracks Social Media Traffic by Query
Google has launched 'platform properties' in Search Console, letting creators on Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube see which search queries drive traffic to their posts. The feature closes a long gap: while Google indexes and ranks social content directly in search results, creators had no way to see query-level performance data. Previously, only platform-native analytics offered surface-level insights. The rollout begins this week and will expand gradually. Search Console has traditionally required a website property; this breaks that assumption.
