Sysdig Documents First Autonomous AI Ransomware Attack
Sysdig researchers documented JadePuffer, an AI agent that executed a complete ransomware attack without human interaction during the intrusion. The agent breached a Langflow vulnerability, pivoted to a MySQL database, escalated privileges, encrypted over 1,300 records, and authored its own ransom note. A human operator only provisioned infrastructure and selected the target. The attack compresses reconnaissance through extortion into a single autonomous run.
