Oracle's SEC Filing Formally Links 21,000 Workforce Cuts to AI Adoption
Oracle disclosed a 21,000-employee reduction over 12 months in its annual SEC filing, explicitly stating that "adoption and deployment of AI technologies" has driven and will continue to drive workforce reductions. Microsoft eliminated 4,800 roles on July 6, 2026. Combined, the two companies have cut over 25,000 positions. Unlike previous framing that downplayed causality, Oracle's regulatory language represents a formal, legally binding acknowledgment that automation is a direct cause of job elimination, not coincidence.
