Albanese and Chalmers deny rift over ATO credit-card pause

Anthony Albanese and Jim Chalmers denied any rift over the ATO ban on credit-card payments for tax debts. Albanese told question time on 14 October 2026 they discussed it last week and the expenditure review committee unanimously agreed a limited pause. Chalmers says he was across the decision. Unanimous is doing a lot of work here.
