Vulnerable flying foxes face mass starvation across NSW and Victoria
Grey-headed flying foxes, listed as vulnerable federally, are starving across NSW and parts of Victoria amid blossom and nectar shortages. NSW Environment says shortages stretch from northern rivers to south coast. WIRES links the event to habitat loss and dry winter poor flowering. Fawna on the mid-north coast logs 50-90 calls daily.
