Rahul Gandhi Detained During New Delhi Protests

Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, was detained by police during protests in New Delhi on October 12, 2026. Police had locked down the capital to block demonstrations demanding the resignation of India's election chief. The detention followed days of lockdown and mass detentions of young protesters.
