
NS&I lifts five-year bond to 5.17%, breaching 5% for first time in nearly three years
NS&I increased its British savings bonds on 10 October, with the five-year growth bond paying 5.17%, up from 4.85%. Two- and three-year bonds also exceed 5%. Funds are locked until maturity, with £500 minimum and up to £1m per person per issue. Savers weighing duration against flexibility should note providers can withdraw best buys quickly.
