Colorado election results won't be official until 35-day canvass ends

Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold reminded election officials on June 29 that Election Night Reporting results from the primary are preliminary. Official results emerge only after a 35-day canvass period in which counties process provisional ballots, cure mail ballots, and reconcile military and overseas votes. The timing matters this cycle: candidate withdrawals after ballot printing mean some voters cast ballots for candidates no longer running.
