Delhi has de-registered over 6.2 million older vehicles since imposing age-based bans on petrol cars over 15 years old and diesel vehicles over 10 years old. While EV subsidies exist to ease replacement, households unable to afford electric vehicles or lacking charging access face real mobility loss.
