New York alleges TikTok gave thousands of users, including children and teenagers, a nonworking version of its algorithm-reset safety control. In an unsealed update to its 2024 lawsuit, the state says users completed the reset flow believing their feeds would clear harmful personalization, while feeds did not change. TikTok says it regularly tests features to validate real-world experience.
