Comcast to Separate Cable Business from NBCUniversal and Sky
Comcast announced on June 28 that it will split into two publicly traded companies: one retaining its U.S. broadband and cable infrastructure, the other holding NBCUniversal, Sky, and streaming platform Peacock. The spinoff, structured as a tax-free distribution to shareholders, aims to let each entity be valued against focused peers rather than as a vertically integrated conglomerate carrying a valuation discount.
