Kagan and Soai Win 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for Asymmetric Synthesis

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the 2026 Chemistry Nobel to Henri B. Kagan (Université Paris-Sud) and Kenso Soai (Tokyo University of Science) for non-linear effects and autocatalysis in asymmetric synthesis. Announced 7 October 2026, it cites Kagan's 1986 enantiomeric enrichment work and Soai's 1995-2003 homochiral autocatalysis.
