Erdogan Urges End to UN Security Council Veto and Permanent Seats

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York called for ending permanent Security Council membership and abolishing the veto, calling the system "unjust". He proposed the General Assembly elect all members for set terms. Charter change needs backing from all five veto powers — US, UK, France, Russia and China.
