RWE bets $4.1 billion on German grid operator, banking on renewable and data-center buildout

The investment locks into regulated returns as the country's grid upgrades to handle offshore wind and feeds enormous new data-center loads at transmission voltage. For RWE, owning both generation and grid gives structural advantage over pure-play generators navigating increasingly complex dispatch economics.
