Northeast heating oil bills projected to jump 50% to $2,297

Northeastern U.S. households are projected to spend $2,297 on heating oil this winter, up from $1,749 last winter, a rise of as much as 50%, per Sept. 19 reporting. That's the seasonal outlay for a fuel still concentrated regionally. The projection is not yet a billed price.
