Women and children in Syria's Roj camp allege night raids and assaults by guards

More than 2,300 women and children held in Roj camp in northeast Syria describe night-time gunfire, stones thrown by guards and assaults during tent raids, in interviews published Sept. 22. Many are held over alleged ISIL association. UN experts call such open-ended detention a breach of international law. Damascus now controls the camp.
