Trump Signs Sweeping Russia and Iran Sanctions Into Law

President Donald Trump signed H.R. 5334, the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, on September 18. The law sanctions President Vladimir Putin, officials and oligarchs, Russian banks, energy and defence sectors and the shadow oil tanker fleet, aiming to deprive Moscow of funds for a war in Ukraine that had lasted nearly five years.
