Zach Cregger's Resident Evil reboot earned $8.8 million in previews ahead of its September 18, 2026 theatrical opening. Variety reported September 16 the film was targeting a franchise-best opening weekend, surpassing six Milla Jovovich entries and 2021's Welcome to Raccoon City.
