Meta and Google become tenants in India's largest private AI infrastructure build

Meta Platforms and Google have committed to major leases at Reliance's AI data centres—including a flagship facility in Jamnagar—as Reliance raises $3.8 billion via IPO to fund a $110 billion infrastructure expansion. The partnerships provide Reliance with anchor demand, reducing execution risk for a capital-intensive build, while giving Meta and Google dedicated Indian compute capacity without competing infrastructure investment. Reliance framed the strategy as becoming a domestic AI pioneer, not a passive consumer of offshore models.
