
BBC cash reserves fall 66% to decade low of £125m
BBC public-service cash fell from £369m in 2025 to £125m, down 66% and the lowest in a decade, according to Guardian analysis. Director general Matt Brittin warned staff there was "not a lot of elbow room for anything." Insiders say reserves funded content and digital transition as licence-fee income eroded.
