Security Council to Vote on One-Month Sudan Sanctions Renewal

The U.N. Security Council will vote at 10 a.m. on a U.S.-authored draft to renew the 1591 Sudan sanctions regime for one month until Oct. 9, 2026. The regime, covering asset freezes, travel bans and an arms embargo, would be extended with the U.S. acting as penholder.
