AI fakes hijack real artists' streaming pages, royalties go to scammers

Scammers are uploading AI-generated tracks to the official Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and Amazon Music pages of real artists and keeping the royalties, 404 Media reported. Spotify said unmanaged profiles are especially vulnerable. The workflow uses Suno or Udio for audio, generative AI for cover art, and open distributors such as DistroKid with false artist claims.
