Guterres Calls Security Council Reform 'Absolute Priority'

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on September 16 called UN Security Council reform an 'absolute priority,' saying geopolitical divides among major powers have paralysed the body. At a news conference, he said powers that themselves violate international law sit in the Council, and power relations no longer correspond to world realities, requiring a redistribution of power.
