Russian frigate fires warning shots at British yacht in English Channel
The Admiral Grigorovich, a Russian guided-missile frigate, discharged warning shots near a UK-registered pleasure yacht in the English Channel on 17 June. Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the incident reckless. Russia confirmed firing the shots. The Channel is among the world's busiest shipping lanes and falls within British territorial waters, where warships must maintain innocent passage under international law.
