Brazil justices trade coup accusations in livestreamed court clash

Justices Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça clashed during a livestreamed Supreme Court plenary on Sept. 15. Moraes told Mendonça: “You’re at the service of a political group that tried to launch a coup in this country!” Mendonça replied: “It’s a lie!” The fight precedes October’s presidential election between Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro.
