
Pike River families say safety reforms still omit corporate manslaughter
Anna Osborne and Sonya Rockhouse, whose husbands died in the 2010 Pike River Coal Mine disaster, are opposing the government's planned workplace safety law changes. They say the reforms fail to address criminal liability for organisations whose failures cause workplace deaths — a gap that has persisted through two major legislative overhauls and a decade of reform since Pike River killed 29 men.
