Parents cut school uniform spending 12.5% ahead of term

Parents and carers spent 12.5% less on school uniform in the four weeks to 6 September, with average spend falling to £54.53 from £62.29 a year earlier, according to Worldpanel by Numerator. An August survey found 44% prioritised low cost over quality. I read this as households trading down to value and unbranded lines.
