Altman, Amodei, Hassabis and Musk Loosely Agree to Pace AI Frontier

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Google DeepMind cofounder Demis Hassabis and SpaceX head Elon Musk have loosely agreed to slow AI development to "pace the frontier". The loose understanding reflects at least partial support for Amodei's September 2026 proposal for third-party auditors, domestic lab regulation and a global slowdown agreement.
