U.S. equity options showed fragility and fearlessness with about two months to go until the midterm elections, Reuters reported Sept. 9, 2026. Reuters described the stock market as fearless but vulnerable to shocks. I see that as investors paying little for downside protection while the system has less room to absorb a sharp move.
