Russian Shahed Drone Hits Chornobyl Fuel Storage; Nuclear Site Confirmed as Strategic Target

A Russian Shahed drone struck the reception building of a spent nuclear fuel facility 15 kilometres from Chornobyl on 7 June at 2am local time. The targeted structure was empty of fuel containers; no radiation spike was detected. The IAEA confirmed large quantities of nuclear material remain at the site. Ukraine's Zelenskyy called the attack deliberate and "extremely vile." Russia has not commented.
